Nicola has been the Schools Liaison and Outreach Officer for the Faculty since October 2021 and is responsible for:

  • Liaising with MFL teachers, academics, and outreach colleagues to organise inbound and outbound school visits and events;
  • Delivering talks and sessions about languages (at Oxford) to school pupils;
  • Organising, publicising and running large-scale annual events and activities such as Open Days, our Teachers’ Conference, and the Flash Fiction competitions;
  • Updating the Schools Liaison blog, webpages, and Twitter account;
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising undergraduate and graduate student ambassadors for the Faculty;
  • Servicing the Schools Liaison and Outreach Committee;
  • Developing an outreach strategy alongside the Director of Schools Liaison.

Before coming to Oxford, she worked in widening participation for the University of Exeter.

Nicola is a First Aider and holds a certificate in Safeguarding Children Awareness (Level 1 & 2).

Outside of work, Nicola enjoys singing in a jazz band, watching tennis, and socialising with friends.
