A bibliographical study of books by Portuguese writers, most of them in Latin, which can be found in the university and college libraries of Oxford and Cambridge. There are more than 2,000 such volumes, all printed before 1640. The heart of the book is a short-title catalogue which lists all the Portuguese books, with information about provenance and date of acquisition.
