A new podcast series from the Ashmolean Museum has launched, featuring an episode by Professor Helen Watanabe-O'Kelly who describes how a Meissen porcelain chocolate cup and tea bowl represent the cultural exchange that took place in the event an Enlightenment-era royal marriage. The podcast can be watched on the Ashmolean website.
Professor Watanabe-O'Kelly is a member of the Marrying Cultures research project, a collaborative international project that investigates how royal marriages resulted in a transfer of cultures between the courts of the king and the queen consort.
