We are delighted to announce that Professor Cécile Bishop will join the faculty from October 2021, having been appointed to the Associate Professorship in Francophone Literatures and Cultures (jointly with Oriel College). Professor Bishop's current post is at NYU; she works on postcolonial francophone literatures and visual culture, with a particular emphasis on the Caribbean, sub-Saharan Africa, and the representation of race in French culture.
