Professor Carolin Duttlinger went on BBC Radio 4’s ‘In Our Time’ last week to discuss the life, work and legacy of Walter Benjamin (1892-1940), the philosopher and critic.

His ideas on aesthetic theory, literary criticism and historical materialism were developed in the 1920s and 1930s, against a backdrop of increasingly precarious political and personal circumstances.
