The Early Modern French Research Seminar is a termly seminar series devoted to current scholarship in sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth-century French studies. The seminar hosts UK, French and international researchers working in the field of early modern studies, as well as a yearly Graduate Showcase which gives current doctoral students in the French department working on early modern authors an opportunity to present their work. Seminars are held on Thursdays at the Maison Française d'Oxford with 3-4 seminars taking place in each term, from 5 to 7pm: each seminar consists of a forty-minute presentation followed by a discussion at the Maison Française and then at the pub. It's a popular seminar attracting a core audience of around twenty colleagues and graduate students from the French sub-faculty, as well as other regular attendees from those working across the humanities and social sciences in Oxford.

The seminar welcomes anyone with interests in early modern France, and provides a stimulating, friendly and intellectually enlivening environment in which to discuss contemporary research in the field.
