On 17th May, Galicians celebrate the Día das Letras Galegas (Galician Literature Day). Every year, a Galician writer is chosen by the Real Academia Galega to be honoured and studied in depth; in 2022, this figure is Florencio Delgado Gurriarán, a poet, activist and politician who spent most of his life as an exile in Mexico.

To commemorate this occasion, the John Rutherford Centre for Galician Studies will organise a series of activities.

The first of these will be María Geremías sharing her research on the impact on the publishing field of celebrating Galician Literature Day.

This event will be in Galician.
