The annual language competitions for schools are open for entries! The Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages invites school students to take part in our competitions for French, German, and Spanish.
In French, we invite you to re-imagine the ending of a film, while in Spanish we invite you to submit flash fiction (short stories of 100 words or fewer). The age categories are Years 7-11 and 12-13. A first prize of £100 will be awarded to the winning student in each age group, with runner-up prizes of £25. More information is available here.
The German Olympiad, run by the Oxford German Network, has a range of competitions on the theme of ‘Freundschaft – Friendship’, including story writing, script writing, and animation. This competition has categories for students in Years 5-6, Years 7-9, Years 10-11, and Years 12-13, as well as an open category for groups or classes. More information can be found here.
