Last week saw the launch of Modern Languages Outreach and Engagement, a British Academy funded project run by Dr Jessica Goodman (French, St Catz).
The project, which was the recipient of a Rising Stars Engagement Award, brings together Early Career Researchers from across the UK to discuss the current crisis in Modern Languages studies, and the ways in which researchers can contribute to efforts to encourage engagement and attainment among school pupils. It culminates in a nation-wide engagement day in February 2021, which takes place simultaneously at eight institutions across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Oxford’s own Joanna Raisbeck (German) is among the ECRs selected to take part. For more information see www.mloe.org
