Ola Sidorkiewicz has been awarded a scholarship by the Institute for the Development of Polish Language in the Polish Ministry of Education in recognition of her efforts to promote the study of Polish language and culture abroad.
The aim of the Institute is to support the development of the Polish language, particularly amongst the Polish diaspora - now estimated to amount to around 20 million - recognising its variety and diverse needs, its traditions and new challenges.
Ola was awarded the scholarship on the basis of her work to promote the academic study of Polish language and culture, whose main venue was the TORCH-funded Polish Studies Working Group. The Institute has awarded 24 scholarships for activists below the age of 30 from 13 countries. The award ceremony will take place on 20 December 2024.
