Madeleine Chalmers has been selected as the winner of this year’s R. Gapper Postgraduate Essay Prize, for her essay ‘The Surreal Technics of André Breton and Gilbert Simondon’. The judging panel was of the view that the essay was a stimulating and innovative piece of work, written with considerable flair.
The award includes a cash prize of £750 and expenses-paid travel to the Society for French Studies Annual Conference at Royal Holloway, University of London on 1-3 July (where the Prize will be formally presented).
