Pushkin House has announced the recipients of their inaugural Contemporary Russian Poetry in Translation Residency; translator Helena Kernan and poet Galina Rymbu.

 

The aim of the Residency, which will be hosted by the Translation Exchange at The Queen's College, is to support the translation of contemporary Russian poetry by providing a supportive environment where the translator and poet can work together. Between 24 February and 15 March 2020, Helena and Galina will be living and working together in The Queen’s College, St Edmund Hall and University College Oxford. During their stay they will run a translation masterclass for MML students.

 

Professor Andrew Kahn, Tutorial Fellow in Russian at St Edmund Hall, and Professor of Russian Literature in the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, University of Oxford, sat on the jury for this Residency.
