Francesca Hearing

We are delighted to announce that one of our two entrants to the 2020 R. Gapper Undergraduate Essay Prize, Francesca Hearing (Oriel College), has been voted this year’s winner for her essay on ‘Travel, Exile and Migration’. Francesca will receive a cheque for £250, and an invitation to attend the next annual conference of the Society for French Studies.

We are also delighted that the second Oxford entrant, Anna Gier (Balliol College), was named runner-up, for her essay on ‘French Poetry from Surrealism to the Present’.
