Dr Belinda Jack (Tutor in French at Christ Church) is currently advising on an English translation of Maboula Soumahoro’s Le triangle et l’hexagone, to be published by Polity Press as Black is the Journey, Africana the Name, in September 2021.  

Belinda writes: ‘Maboula Soumahoro’s Le triangle et l’hexagone makes an important intellectual contribution to contemporary discussions and theoretical enquiries into race, racism, blackness, and identity. A mix of personal recollection and anecdote, combined with academic analysis, Soumahoro also challenges the logic and usefulness of some  academic methodologies which have, she argues, themselves functioned as structures of exclusion.’
