In 2016, Philip Ross Bullock - Professor of Russian Literature and Music, and Fellow in Russian at Wadham College - published a biography of Tchaikovsky in Reaktion's Critical Lives series.

This month, Philip was interviewed as part of the Crafting Musical Lives podcast series. In this interview, he looks back on the process of researching and writing this book, and reflects on issues of writing the life of Russia' most famous composer - and one of the most famous composers of all time.
