Congratulations to Professor Catriona Seth and her colleague from the University of Augsburg, Professor Rotraud von Kulessa, on the publication of the first modern edition of Anglo-Venetian author Giustiniana Wynne's 1788 novel Les Morlaques.

Catriona Seth said: "I am thrilled this book is out. I did the initial research in Venice at the Fondazione Cini thanks to TORCH's links to the institution. The novel is set mainly in the Balkans and contains much ethnographical detail. The author, Giustiniana Wynne, who was born in Venice, is a fascinating character who deserves to be better known. Rotraud and I have plans to work on her further. This will involve tracking down archives in the UK, Italy, Austria and France.
