The faculty has been awarded funding from the Oxford Diversity Fund for this academic year to support the Diversity Translation Project, which encourages students from two Oxford Faculties (MML and Oriental Studies) to participate in translations of work currently unavailable in English by writers who have been traditionally overlooked because of the biases of national literary canons and the global literary market. A selection of these translations will be made available in an open-access format, as well as to primary and secondary schools as part of translation workshops and literary study. The project leads are Phillip Rothwell from MML and Adriana X. Jacobs from Oriental Studies.
