Congratulations to Caroline Warman who has been jointly awarded the R. Gapper Book Prize 2021, for her book ‘The Atheist’s Bible. Diderot and the Éléments de physiologie’. The book examines the writing and reception of Diderot’s Éléments de physiologie”, and shows how Diderot was engaging with other thinkers of his time.
Other entries from Oxford shortlisted for the prize were 'Born to Write Literary Families and Social Hierarchy in Early Modern France' by Neil Kenny, 'Yves Bonnefoy and Jean-Luc Nancy. Ontological Performance' by Emily McLaughlin and 'Nathalie Sarraute. A Life Between' by Ann Jefferson.
